I love Fridays!

1. I love reading Melissa's blog Operation Nice,  it is very inspiring and her post today is just great.   She is reading the book Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose, written by Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos ( I will be purchasing this book tomorrow).  She has a video of the Delivering Happiness Team that will make you smile all day.

2. I love that my son loves Halloween as much as I do.   He had me make his costume already, he is going as Bigfoot.  He painted the mask himself.  Let's just hope it cools down by Halloween.

3. I love hats!   I bought the cutest hat at the La di da designs boutique.  I am just waiting for it to get below 105 degrees so I can take my hair out of a ponytail and wear it.  The girls at La-di-da design are going to be putting on another boutique on November 18, 19, & 20.  I can't wait, I had such a great time!

4.  I love Melissa's banner class at the Scrapbook Barn in Gilbert.   Today we did "Halloween in Wonderland" banner.  I will add my finished photo after I get it hung up in my home.  Melissa is an amazing artist and I love taking her classes ( I have no clue how she comes up with these fabulous banners but I love making them).

5.  I love that next week at this time I will be on the beach in Oregon (highs in only the 60's- yeah!!!!) with 4 of my friends from Texas at Terri Brush Designs Art Camp.  I can't wait!

I Love Fridays (Guest Post)

        Hi everyone! My name is Robin Norgren of Well of Creations and I am so pleased to be a part of I Love Fridays.  In one of those "small world" situations, I "met" Suzi through Kelly Rae Robert's Flying Lesson e-course while I was living in Germany where my husband is stationed with the Navy.  Small world because I am a former resident of Chandler Arizona!

       Having arrived back "home" in Arizona about a month ago (while my husband remains in Germany to finish his deployment), this week is truly the first week where life has "felt" normal.  So it is very nice to commemorate that feeling with this segment.  So here we go - three things I am grateful for this week:

1. Starting a creative mommy and me e-course offered by The Wish Studio

I am so pleased with these structured fun projects to help my little one and I get back into the swing of our creative life.  Did I mention that I won a contest or I would have been too overwhelmed to look into this.  Hooray!

                                  2. Creating my own personal art again this week
 This week was the first time that I took out the paper and the paints and sat and waited patiently... It felt good to put thoughts on paper and pull things out of my heart.  I have been blessed that this is where I feel GOD meet me in a very intimate way.

                                        3. The #1 Most fun Josey and I have together? 

 Bouncing in those  HUGE indoor bounce structures! 

Because Labor Day weekend is still incredibly HOT in Arizona, this was definitely a fun and FABULOUS alternative to the heat.

Thanks so much to Suzi for allowing me to be in her space this week.  I do feel truly blessed and I love these weekly "stop and remind myself" moments.

I love Fridays

This week is the Home Improvement Edition

I decided this week that I should finally get around to finishing some projects around the house.

1. I love that I finally finished grouting our backsplash in our kitchen.

    ***Here is a tip, when grouting natural stone such as slate, it is best to seal the slate first. 

 That way the grout will wipe off the tile like butter and 

you won't spend an entire day (like me) trying to clean a 4 ft section of tile.***

2. I love that we finally have baseboards in our bedroom.  

    We have had them painted and stacked up against a wall for about a year now.  

Hopefully it won't take me that long to caulk them.

3. I love our new french doors.

    I hated our sliding glass door and we always wanted to replace it, but it seemed like other things were

 always more of a priority.  Well after our sliding glass door got so hard to open that 

Garrett started to just use the doggie door, 

we figured it was time to bite the bullet and replace it. 

 I still need to paint them (just another project to add to our list, sorry Ivan! ) but they look 110% better

4.  I love our new patio cushions, I found these at Cost Plus World Market on clearance.

     I got them at 75% off!!!  I usually try to buy only Sunbrella fabric for outside, 

but they were so much fun (I am a color freak) I had to get them.

Which brings me to #5

5.  I love the look of our patio!!!

     After putting the fun cushions on our boring black patio sets, I realized that something needed to change.  

A quick trip to Lowes and our patio furniture fits perfectly with the colorful cushions.  

*** Here is another tip, don't paint furniture outside when it is 110+.***
